Traveling to Vista by bicycle just got easier, but if you’re looking for a traditional bike rack in Vista’s downtown Vista Village, you won’t find one. As part of its beautification efforts for the downtown area, the Vista Village Business Association (VVBA) contracted local artists Rick and Jaydon Randall to manufacture four new uniquely designed aluminum bike racks. The uniqueness of the bike racks reflects Vista’s artistic flare and its ability to draw crowds from miles away into its historic downtown Main Street location. The bike racks are placed on selected areas of the public sidewalk within the Central Vista Business Improvement District and will be maintained by the VVBA.
The Beer Mug bike rack is located in front of Mother Earth Brewery on Main Street, the 395 bike rack is located in front of the Lush Coffee building at Main Street and N. Michigan, the Star bike rack is aptly positioned in front of the Avo Theater on Main Street and the Butterfly bike rack is conveniently positioned in front of Yoga Vista and the Yellow Deli on E. Broadway.
“We are so happy to have these bike racks avilable to accommodate the bicycle traffic in downtown Vista. Both our Main Street traffic and night life are really picking up with the addition of so many new merchants. Vista is coming alive!”, said Julie Corpora, a long time Vista resident and the VVBA’s new interim Executive Director.
